Individual Counseling FAQ’s
What can a marriage and family therapist offer to someone seeking individual counseling?
Marriage and family therapists are trained to look at people as individuals who are impacted by the community around them. We believe in the interconnectedness of all beings through families and communities. Each one of us has our own unique journey, but who we are, and who we choose to become may be affected by those who have impacted our lives, whether negatively, positively or both.
What is individual counseling with Trisha Falvey, MA,LMFT like?
Individual counseling offers you the time you deserve, to define your hopes and goals and work toward them. You decide what feels important to you. I will help you stay on course, and provide feedback – and some things to think about between sessions – as you work toward your goals. Some people have sessions weekly, some have sessions biweekly, depending on what works for you and what is going on for you at the time. Again, that will ultimately be up to you. I do ask that clients who begin individual counseling put themselves and the process as priorities during the time we work together in order to maximize effectiveness.
